Yalumba The Signature Cabernet Sauvignon & Shiraz 2023 is a classic Australian red blend from the Barossa, produced by one of the country’s most historic family-owned wineries. First released from the 1962 vintage, The Signature has become one of Yalumba’s most recognisable and meaningful wines, with each release honouring an individual who has made a lasting contribution to the winery’s story. The 2023 release continues that tradition as the 51st release of this celebrated label. It brings together Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz, two varieties that have long formed one of Australia’s most distinctive and age-worthy red wine styles. The Cabernet Sauvignon component was sourced from three Barossa Valley vineyards, selected to provide lifted aromatics, depth and palate structure. The Shiraz component also comes from three Barossa vineyards of varying age, including old vines planted in 1935, contributing richness, fullness and layered complexity.

In the glass, the wine shows a stunning scarlet red colour with a vibrant crimson hue. The nose is classic, detailed and complex, led by blackcurrant, dark chocolate, black cherry and olive tapenade, with further notes of florals, sage and liquorice emerging as the wine opens. The palate is beautifully structured, revealing layers of coffee, blue fruits and spice supported by long, flowing tannins. While rich and expressive, the wine remains stylish, elegant and finely balanced, showing the harmony that makes Cabernet and Shiraz such a successful Australian partnership.
