Reposado means rested. After two to twelve months in oak, bright agave rounds into a golden pour with a smooth, mellow profile. Vanilla, caramel and gentle spice fold over fresh agave character, giving a versatile style that sips neatly and mixes beautifully.

Why Shop Reposado Tequila at Kent Street Cellars

We curate balanced, oak kissed reposados from iconic houses and small producers for clarity of flavour and craft. Explore favourites and collectibles from Don Julio, Patrón, Fortaleza and Mijenta, plus select releases from Cincoro and Clase Azul. Availability changes with season and demand.

    What Is Reposado Tequila

Reposado Tequila begins life as blanco and rests in oak for a minimum of two months and up to one year. Ageing softens edges, deepens colour and layers vanilla, caramel and honeyed spice over the core of cooked agave.

    How It Tastes

Expect aromas of ripe agave, vanilla and light oak spice. The palate is smooth and rounded with caramel, honey and soft baking spice, finishing clean with gentle sweetness and a touch of citrus.

    How It Is Made

Cooked blue Weber agave is crushed and fermented, then distilled in copper pot or column stills. The spirit rests two to twelve months in barrels such as ex bourbon, American oak or French oak. Some labels use cask finishes for added nuance, while a few filter to produce cristalino style reposado.

    Styles in the Collection

    • Classic reposado: ex bourbon ageing for vanilla, caramel and gentle spice
    • French oak or new oak: more toast, baking spice and structure
    • Cask finishes: wine, sherry or port influenced richness
    • Cristalino reposado: filtered to appear clear while retaining oak derived flavour
    • Collector formats: limited releases and gift friendly bottles when available

    Reposado Tequila Questions, Answered

    How long is reposado aged?

Reposado rests in oak for a minimum of two months and up to one year.

    What does reposado taste like?

Smooth and mellow with vanilla, caramel, honey and gentle spice layered over bright agave.

Is reposado better for sipping or cocktails?

It does both well. Sip neat or on the rocks, or use as a richer base for Margaritas, Palomas and stirred drinks.

    What is cristalino reposado?

An oak aged reposado that has been filtered to appear clear while retaining much of its barrel derived flavour.

    Reposado vs blanco vs añejo?

Blanco is unaged and agave forward. Reposado rests two to twelve months for added vanilla and spice. Añejo ages one to three years for deeper oak, caramel and cocoa.

    How should I store reposado?

Keep bottles upright in a cool, dark place and seal tightly after opening. Enjoy within a year of opening for best freshness.
