Product Description:
Domaine Collotte Marsannay Les Grasses Têtes 2024 is a refined red Burgundy from Marsannay, produced from Pinot Noir grown in one of the domaine’s named village lieux-dits. Les Grasses Têtes is part of Domaine Collotte’s range of terroir-focused Marsannay wines, crafted to highlight the aromatic and structural differences between each vineyard site. The domaine lists Les Grasses Têtes as a one-hectare Pinot Noir holding, reflecting the family’s deep connection to Marsannay and the northern Côte de Nuits. Domaine Collotte applies a similar vinification and élevage approach across its terroir cuvées, allowing the vineyard character to speak clearly rather than being shaped by heavy-handed winemaking. The wine is sourced from two parcels of old vines, one based on Crinoidal limestone, also known as Calcaire à Entroques, and the other on Comblanchien limestone. These soils help contribute the minerality, purity and fine structure often associated with this cuvée.
The 2024 vintage is described as particularly successful for Les Grasses Têtes, showing fine texture and aromatic lift. In style, this wine is perfumed and pure, combining real depth with elegance, minerality and finely shaped tannins. The fruit profile leans toward red and dark berry notes, supported by subtle spice, earth and a refined mineral line. Its structure is present but balanced, giving the wine both immediate appeal and the potential to develop further with time in bottle. The palate carries the energy and finesse expected from Marsannay, while the finish is long, fresh and quietly persistent. This is a graceful and expressive Côte de Nuits Pinot Noir, well suited to roast poultry, duck, mushroom dishes, charcuterie, pâté, soft cheeses and lighter game preparations.
