It is made primarily from the Montepulciano grape variety, known for its deep red colour and rich flavors. The wine showcases aromas and flavors of red berries, cherries and floral notes. Montepulciano d'Abruzzo wines are typically dry, medium-bodied and exhibit vibrant acidity.

The Tiberio Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2021 is a remarkable expression of the region's renowned grape variety. Crafted from 100% Montepulciano, this wine falls under the Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOP category, specifically produced in Cugnoli (Pe). The vineyard spans across 12 hectares at an impressive altitude of 350 meters above sea level (1200 feet). The clay-calcareous soil composition lends a distinct character to the wine. The vines, trained using the canopy system, exhibit a density of 2500 vines per hectare. With an average vine age of 52 years, the yield is limited to 50 hectoliters. The grapes are carefully hand-harvested in October to ensure optimum ripeness and quality. The winemaking process begins with a 20-day alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation in the same vessels. The wine then undergoes a 3-month aging period in both stainless steel tanks and bottles. In the glass, the Tiberio Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2021 presents a brilliant ruby red colour with inviting violet tinges. On the nose and palate, the wine displays intense aromas and flavors that are both refined and elegant. Notes of sour red cherry, blueberry, violet and flint intertwine harmoniously, offering a captivating sensory experience. The wine's tannins are smooth, contributing to its full-bodied nature. Bright ruby. Bitter red and black cherry, blackcurrant, tobacco and violet on the perfumed, inviting nose, along with an intriguing flinty quality. Fresh and energetic, but at the same time suave and silky in the mouth, with a concentrated dark cherry and fresh plum flavours.
