Sullivans Cove Rare Double Cask Single Malt Whisky comes from the world famous distillery in Tasmania, Australia. Each barrel displays its own special character, producing only a few hundred bottles of rare quality, so each time another Sullivans Cove French Oak is opened, a new page in Sullivans Cove's famed story is turned.
This single malt whisky is aged in a combination of French and American oak casks, every tiny batch expressing the unique characteristics of both styles. With incredible complexity and length, Double Cask has a rich palate of sweet malt, dried apricots, honey and freshly baked bread.
Winner of Best Australian Single Malt at the World Whiskies Awards 2018, Sullivans Cove Double Cask is always non-chill filtered and additive free.
Double Cask batch number DC111 is a marriage of portions from ten different casks, ranging in age from 7 to 20 years. As well as whisky from several American oak ex-Bourbon casks, this batch also contains whisky from both American and French oak casks, which have been previously used for either Tawny, white wine, or red wine.
All one would hope and dream for in a Double Cask: thick, silky, malty, full of stone fruit, and a distinct Autumnal vibe. The higher ABV in this marriage is noteworthy here: this dram has broad shoulders, and can take water well: expect more fruit. - Heather Tillott, Distillery Manager
