The Tessari Family has a deep-rooted connection to Soave and its native white grapes, Garganega and Trebbiano di Soave. They have been cultivating vineyards since the late 1800s but redefined their approach in the 1980s, focusing on quality grape growing techniques. Suavia, their winery, is located in the heart of Soave's Classico zone, known for its hillside terroir and volcanic soils. They have conducted rigorous clonal research, resulting in mono-varietal wines from Garganega and Trebbiano di Soave. Suavia is recognized for its commitment to quality and terroir expression. The winery, now run by Giovanni and Rosetta Tessari's daughters, Meri, Valentina, and Alessandra, utilizes a modern and efficient facility to showcase the unique characteristics of their native grapes.

Soave, named after the medieval village and surrounding hillsides, is a classic Italian white wine known for its potential. The original Soave zone, called Soave Classico, covers the volcanic hillsides of the region. The indigenous grape, Garganega, produces medium-bodied wines with fine acidity. The best Soaves exhibit lively floral and fresh herbal aromas, along with flavors of orange zest, peach, melon and marjoram. With age, these wines develop notes of chamomile, marmalade and honey. In the 1960s and 70s, Soave's global reputation led to expansion beyond the original zone, resulting in softer, fruit-forward versions of the wine. However, the best quality and age-worthy Soaves can be found labelled as Soave Classico or Soave Colli Scaligeri, which are often 100% Garganega. These wines originate from the traditional hillside terroir and are known for their structure and aging potential. The Tessari Family, owners of Suavia winery, have been instrumental in redefining the quality of Soave wines. They focus on using their state-of-the-art facility to express the nuances of Garganega and Trebbiano di Soave, the two native grapes of the region. Suavia is recognized as one of the leaders in quality and terroir expression in the Soave zone.

Garganega is a classic white grape variety in Ital, primarily grown in the vineyards surrounding the medieval village of Soave. It is the dominant grape in the region's renowned wine, also called Soave. According to regulations, Garganega must make up 70-100% of the blend, with the remaining portion traditionally completed by Trebbiano di Soave to add crispness. The finest Soave wines, known for their elegance and vibrancy, originate from the Soave Classico zone, located in the center of Soave. This area boasts hills with decomposed volcanic and granitic soils, contributing to the unique character of the wines produced there.

Suavia Monte Carbonare Soave Classico 2021 is a remarkable wine sourced from a vineyard situated on the hill known as Monte Carbonare. The name Carbonare derives from "coal" due to the vineyard's volcanic soils, which are as black as coal. This wine is crafted exclusively from 100% Garganega grapes and undergoes vinification solely in stainless steel tanks to preserve its freshness. The Tessari family considers this wine as "earth in a glass," a pure representation of their volcanic terroir. In appearance, Suavia Monte Carbonare Soave Classico 2021 exhibits a straw yellow colour with intense and brilliant highlights. On the palate, the wine is creamy and elegant showcasing a remarkable freshness accompanied by enticing aromas of citrus, herbs and mineral notes. Its well-balanced nature and refreshing qualities make it a delightful companion, with a dry and persistent finish that leaves a lasting impression. Suavia Monte Carbonare Soave Classico 2021 pairs exceptionally well with delicate fish-based dishes, truffle or mushroom risottos, and medium-flavoured cheeses. It also complements a variety of vegetarian dishes, making it a versatile option for those seeking a wine to accompany their plant-based meals. With its distinct volcanic character and the Tessari family's commitment to quality winemaking, Suavia Monte Carbonare Soave Classico 2021 offers a pure and expressive experience of the unique terroir it originates from.
