Rockford Rifle Range Cabernet Sauvignon 2004
Rocky O’Callahan is one of the Australian wine industry’s true originals, and since 1984 he has done things his way at Rockford. To this day all fruit is processed using a single crusher and basket press from the 1890’s. This process can take up to six weeks to crush the 220 tonnes of grapes harvested annually, at many modern wineries this might be achieved in a single day! This steadfast commitment to quality and tradition results in wines of character unmatched anywhere in Australia.
The 2004 Rifle Range Cabernet Sauvignon comes from a stellar vintage and is a beautiful exception of the variety from Australia’s finest red wine region.
“Great colour and hue; this is a quite beautiful expression of cabernet sauvignon in the Barossa Valley; great purity of line and fruit flavour; blackcurrant and cassis fruit, with positively silky tannins” 95 points - James Halliday Wine Companion
