The 2021 Rockford Basket Press Shiraz is sourced from dry-grown vineyards aged between 60 and 140 years, tended by a network of long-standing independent growers across the Barossa’s varied soils, altitudes, and microclimates. Made in the traditional Barossa style, this small-batch red wine represents a living link to the region’s rich post-colonial heritage.

Founded in the 1980s by Robert O’Callaghan, Rockford remains fiercely committed to old-world methods — hand-picking fruit at perfect ripeness, crushing with a 19th-century wooden Bagshaw crusher, open fermentation, and basket pressing. The wine matures for two years in seasoned 300-litre French and American oak hogsheads, alongside large 2500-litre vats, allowing for a slow, natural integration of fruit and oak.
