Pillitteri Estates Winery is proud to produced one of nature's most exquisite gifts, Icewine. Harvest of Icewine grapes occurs when temperatures have reached at least -8°C or colder! When pressed, these hand picked, naturally frozen grapes produce a juice with intense concentration of sugars, acids, flavours, and aromas. Pillitteri Estates takes great pride in producing Icewine within strict VQA standards, resulting in Icewine of the highest quality. To be a VQA wine, the wine is made from 100% Ontario-grown grapes, which have been approved through a strict quality-assurance program. VQA stands for Vintners Quality Alliance.

A golden straw colour, this Icewine is explosive in the nose and on the pallet. With notes of ripe pear, lychees in syrup, floral aromas and candied citrus on the nose. The palate is intensely mouth-filling with flavours of peach, baking spices and tropical fruits. It’s sweetness is balanced by cleansing acidity which lengthens the finish.

This wine is perfect as an aperitif or digestif. It also can be enjoyed with strong cheeses (aged cheddar, deep-veined blue cheese, etc.) or desserts less sweet than the Icewine (focus on citrus flavours).
