      Pierro VR Chardonnay is the top wine from this winery with fruit mainly coming from their oldest vines planted in 1980. Hand picked and sorted followed by a gentle cold press releasing the finest free run juice fermented in French oak barrels - 70% new and 30% old. The wine is matured for 12 months in these barrels with regular battonage and malolactic fermentation. It was bottled and then stored in their temperature controlled cellars to allow the wine to age gracefully before release.

      The resulting 2017 vintage is delicate with intense aromas and flavours. Notes of stone fruit, citrus, honey and flowers. Powerful, toasty oak, well textured with an incredible finish. 

      This wine is only produced on exceptional years and extremely limited.

      Light, bright yellow colour, with a creamy lees-influenced bouquet with background lemon and grapefruit aromas, a touch of smoky charcuterie. The wine is restrained and intense, delicate and yet powerful, with tremendous depth of flavour and persistence. An outstanding Chardonnay. Drink to 2028. - Huon Hook, on the 2015 vintage
