Product Description:
Precision, freshness and restrained mineral character define the Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Bourgogne Blanc 2024. Produced entirely from Chardonnay, this regional white Burgundy offers an accessible introduction to the distinctive, tension-driven style of one of the Côte de Beaune’s most highly regarded producers. The 2024 cuvée brings together fruit from vineyards in Meursault, which contributes approximately 40% of the blend, Saint-Aubin at 30%, and Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet at 15% each. This combination of parcels provides a broad regional expression while retaining the clarity and detail associated with the domaine’s more prestigious appellations. Pierre-Yves Colin established the estate with his wife, Caroline Morey, after leaving Domaine Marc Colin in 2005. Based in Chassagne-Montrachet, the domaine works with owned and leased vineyards across several important Côte de Beaune villages.
The estate’s white grapes are whole-bunch pressed and fermented with indigenous yeasts, predominantly in larger 350-litre barrels. The Bourgogne wines undergo extended maturation on their lees without bâtonnage, an approach designed to preserve freshness, energy and vineyard expression. In 2024, the wine displays a clear pale-lemon appearance and a crisp, lightly reductive profile. The palate is relatively slender rather than weighty, with tingling acidity bringing brightness and definition. Subtle citrus character runs through the wine, while its measured concentration and balanced length keep the finish clean and refreshing. Although approachable from 2026, its acidity and structure should allow it to develop comfortably over several years. It is well suited to oysters, shellfish, grilled fish, roast poultry, creamy vegetable dishes and soft cheeses.
