Marius Wines Matarius Mataro 2017
The grapes for Marius Wines Matarius Mataro 2017 are grown at the Paeroa vineyard at Willunga. The fruit is hand-picked and fermented in small open fermenters. It is then gently basket pressed and transferred to French and American hogsheads where it undergoes malolactic fermintation. The wine is then matured for 21 months in oak before bottling.
The Marius Vineyard is located on the south-east side of McLaren Vale. All their fruit is hand picked sequentially over a period of 10-20 days, ensuring all grapes are 'near perfect' when picked. They do not use machinery or heavy tractors and no herbicides or pesticides.
