In 1876, Tsar Alexander II of Russia asked the Roederer family to create an exceptional wine exclusively for him. A masterpiece of perfect balance, this champagne owes much to its origins of limestone subsoil and the concentration of old vines on the Louis Roederer estate it comes from. Presented to the Tsar in a transparent crystal bottle, it was called Cristal. Nicolas II, Alexander II's grandson, paid tribute to the House of Louis Roederer in 1908 by awarding it the label of "Official Supplier to the Court of His Majesty the Emperor of Russia". Since that time, Cristal has borne the Tsar's coat of arms. The epitome of high standards and refinement, Cristal is still a work of art by Louis Roederer's master craftsmen, still created with the same passion.
Salmon pink hue with golden tints. Consistent and incredibly delicate effervescence.The bouquet is poised and remarkable elegant. Its subtle, fleeting aromas are so delicately scented, intertwined and complex that they are difficult to describe. They invite you to take your time and lose yourself in this wine, which reveals itself at its own pace, like the master of time it is! The nose exudes delicate, zest, fresh and precise notes of citrus peel, yuzu, forest fruit, mandarin, raspberry and wild strawberry, which evolve towards roasted notes and almonds before giving way to fresh, herbal aromas of vergena and bergamot. It reveals a lovely palate invigorated by an incredibly elegant effervescence and beautifully light bubbles that soften the fruity structure and texture. The overwhelming sensation is one of serenity, the elegance of fresh fruit and the power of the zesty, chalky freshness. The finish is wonderfully long and enticing.
Throughout the entire tasting experience, the wine's finesse remains intricately interwoven in its power and structure. Cristal Rose 2012 displays youth, strength of character and elegance of a Degas ballerina.
