In 1842 a 32 year old Blacksmith, Christian Auricht, arrived from Prussia with his wife and four children. He settled in the new hamlet of Langmeil and built a blacksmith shop in what became the village’s trading area. His original shop remains a feature of the winery’s heritage today. This is comprised of 90% Barossa fruit and 10% Eden Valley. The wine was matured in 18% new and 82% old French Oak. Overall the 2016 season really highlights how tenacious and robust grape vines are, producing good yields and great quality in a brutally dry season.
