Vibrancy, innovation and a deep connection to regenerative viticulture define Henschke The Nurturer 2025, a distinctive Eden Valley blend named in honour of Prue Henschke, the renowned botanist, environmentalist and viticulturist whose work has helped shape the estate’s sustainable philosophy. Sourced entirely from Henschke estate vineyards managed according to organic and biodynamic principles, this wine reflects both place and purpose. The 2025 release is a unique field blend comprising counoise, shiraz, grenache noir, grenache gris, carignan, clairette and cinsault, with each variety added sequentially during fermentation according to harvest timing. This unconventional approach creates remarkable complexity while preserving freshness and varietal character.
The 2025 growing season was one of the earliest and driest on record in Eden Valley, yet careful vineyard management and resilient vine health delivered fruit of excellent quality and concentration. Matured for six months in a combination of new and seasoned French oak puncheons, the wine balances purity of fruit with subtle textural refinement. Aromatically lifted and vibrant, it showcases a spectrum of red and black fruits accented by floral, herbal and spice notes. The palate is generous yet energetic, supported by vibrant acidity and fine chalky tannins that provide structure without weight. Approachable upon release, The Nurturer 2025 also possesses the balance and depth to reward medium-term cellaring over the next decade.
