This Eden Valley Riesling from Henschke delivers crystalline precision with remarkable length. The 2024 Julius Riesling is sourced from the family’s certified-organic Eden Valley Vineyard, along with select high-quality sites in the region. Fermented in stainless steel and bottled early to preserve its purity, it captures the region’s hallmark citrus intensity, floral lift, and mineral drive. Presented here in a rare 1.5L magnum, it’s a wine designed to shine both now and with decades of cellaring.
The season brought lower yields but outstanding concentration. Fragrant makrut lime leaf, lemon zest, citrus blossom, and frangipani lead to a palate of white peach, clover, pink grapefruit, and subtle white musk. Flinty edges and saline acidity carry the wine to a stunningly persistent finish. With only 11% ABV, it retains freshness while delivering remarkable depth — a true expression of Eden Valley Riesling.
Ideal for festive occasions, long seafood lunches, or patient cellaring, this magnum will reward those who appreciate the gradual transformation of great Riesling. Crafted in Eden Valley, shipped from Sydney with fast metro delivery and Australia-wide dispatch.

Intense lime pastille, chamomile aromas with herb garden, hint flinty notes. Beautifully concentrated and pure fruited riesling, with ample lime, lemon glacé fruits, fine bittersweet textures, a hint of tonic water and long fresh quartz-like acidity. Wonderful volume and mineral length; the fruit density offsetting the lowish alcohol beautifully. This has all the hallmarks of a classic bottling. Delicious to drink now, but bottle age complexity beckons.
Phenomenal length, some fruit sweetness fills in at the middle but is well balanced by a fine grip at the finish.
The 2024 Julius Riesling is lean and austere, both aromatically and in the mouth. One must wait for the length of flavour to subside prior to casting judgment upon it; and it is best that you do wait, because the length of flavour is surely one of the greatest determining factors of quality. Here… there is an array of white flowers, crushed fine quartz, citrus pith and lime oil, wrapped in a gauzy shroud of powder-fine phenolics, threaded together by saline acidity. It is long, subtle, composed and excellent. This is Eden Valley at its finest, and the finest Julius yet.
Pale straw in the glass… inviting aromas of Bickford’s lime cordial, fresh lime juice, green apple sorbet and grapefruit. Hints of crushed quartz, Christmas lily, citrus blossom, almond paste, ozone, lemongrass and makrut lime. There is a beautiful tubular, porcelain palate shape here, slickly focused and precise with a slight ache of umami as the wine tears across the tongue like a limey Shinkansen, finishing long, dry and beautifully balanced.
Mineral-driven notes of slate, wet stones, limes and talcum powder. The palate is tightly wound with a light-bodied mouthfeel and energetic acidity, giving notes of grapefruit, lemon peel and nectarines. A very focused and restrained wine that will develop nicely in the bottle over time.
A mild summer has defined a particularly enduring Julius. The delicacy of its lifted apple blossom fragrance is gorgeous, heralding a palate of classic lime and granny smith apple purity of considerable concentration. Cool season acidity traces a long finish of structured focus and long-term potential.
Henschke is one of Australia's most prestigious and historic wineries, with over 153 years and six generations of family ownership. Located in Keyneton, South Australia, within the renowned Eden Valley wine region, Henschke has built a legacy of crafting premium wines, including its iconic single-vineyard wines, Hill of Grace and Mount Edelstone. Since 1862, the Henschke family has cultivated exceptional vineyards in the Eden Valley, Barossa Valley, and Adelaide Hills, with a focus on quality, sustainability, and innovation.
Stephen and Prue Henschke, the fifth-generation winemaker and viticulturist team, have led the winery since 1979, restoring native vegetation and adopting organic and biodynamic vineyard practices. The sixth generation, led by Johann Henschke, continues to honour the traditions of the past while embracing modern winemaking techniques to ensure Henschke remains a leader in fine wine production.
Henschke's commitment to sustainability and excellence has garnered numerous accolades, including the Wine Enthusiast's New World Winery of the Year (2021) and the Halliday Wine Companion's Winery of the Year. The winery has also been recognised with the Robert Parker Wine Advocate Green Emblem, highlighting its dedication to environmentally conscious practices.
Henschke’s philosophy is deeply rooted in the belief that great wines are made in the vineyard. The winery has embraced organic and biodynamic farming practices, ensuring the health of the vines and the land for future generations. By working with nature rather than against it, they produce wines that are not only reflective of the place but also allow the true expression of the fruit to come through. The family’s attention to detail, commitment to quality, and respect for the environment have resulted in a portfolio of wines that have gained worldwide recognition for their excellence.

White peach and pink grapefruit with clover, white musk, and a fine bittersweet texture.
Grapefruit pith, talc-like minerals, and quartz-bright acidity giving phenomenal persistence.
