Deep-set, brooding and distinctively MacMuir. The 2024 release marks another compelling expression from one of Felton Road’s newer sites. Planted on deep silt soils just east of The Elms vineyard, MacMuir carries a density and presence that sets it apart within the estate. As with all Felton Road wines, it is grown organically and biodynamically, hand harvested, and produced with no fining or filtration.
This vintage opens slowly, with dark berry fruit and savoury complexity revealing themselves over time. Fermented with 30 percent whole bunch and matured in 20 percent new oak, the wine’s structure is firm but polished. Fine-grained tannins shape a wine of substance and clarity. A compelling release from a vineyard now fully in stride.

A mix of luscious berry fruit and elegant floral characters framed by fine-grained tannins that begin to melt as the wine sits in the glass revealing layers of flavours. A wine with personality and heft. Approachable now but with mouthwatering development potential.
Felton Road is a benchmark producer from Central Otago, renowned for its commitment to organic and biodynamic practices. Founded in 1991, the winery follows a 100% estate policy, ensuring that all the grapes come from its four vineyard properties, each meticulously managed with sustainability at the forefront. Led by winemaker Blair Walter, viticulturist Gareth King, and proprietor Nigel Greening, Felton Road’s approach to winemaking is rooted in a philosophy of minimal intervention. The winery employs gravity flow, wild yeasts, and avoids fining and filtration, allowing the true character of the fruit and terroir to shine through in every bottle. Felton Road’s dedication to preserving the natural environment through organic and biodynamic practices has made it a leader in the New Zealand wine industry.
