Farr Rising Geelong Pinot Noir 2024 is a finely detailed cool-climate Pinot Noir from the Moorabool Valley in Victoria’s Geelong wine region, produced by the highly regarded By Farr estate. The Farr Rising vineyard, planted in 2001, sits on a north-facing slope of grey sandy loam scattered with ironstone over deeper limestone and volcanic subsoils, a site that consistently produces wines of perfume, structure and mineral tension.

Fruit is hand-harvested and fermented in open fermenters, with a portion of whole bunches included to build aromatic lift and subtle structural complexity. The wine is matured in French oak barrels, with only a small proportion of new oak to maintain balance and transparency of fruit. The 2024 vintage expresses the hallmark elegance and poise of the site, combining vibrant fruit purity with savoury nuance.

In the glass it reveals layers of red cherry, wild strawberry and delicate spice, supported by earthy undertones that reflect the vineyard’s distinctive soils.
