      Farr Rising Gamay 2024 is a unique and captivating wine from one of Victoria’s most respected winemaking families, bringing a serious yet playful expression to this classic varietal. The Gamay vines are grafted onto own-rooted Cabernet vines planted in 1999, grown on a vineyard with black cracking clay soil and volcanic pebbles, adding complexity and depth to the fruit. Hand-picked and sorted in the vineyard, the grapes undergo carbonic fermentation, a technique that highlights the fruity, juicy essence of the variety while enhancing structure and complexity. After foot stomping and pressing, the wine spends eight months in five-year-old barrels to develop further, gaining texture and depth. It’s a wine with presence—fruit-forward yet deeply structured, showing off the best of Gamay with the signature Farr finesse.
