Rosé from a coastal Provençal icon. Clos Mireille is the Mediterranean jewel in the Domaines Ott crown—an estate whose roots stretch back to Benedictine monks and whose wines now carry the hallmark of one of Provence’s most storied families. The 2023 Coeur de Grain Rosé is a focused and expressive bottling, drawing on 17-year-old vines rooted in rare limestone-free, schist soils, just metres from the sea.

This is not just any Provence rosé. The Clos Mireille site brings together intense sunlight, maritime salinity, and the mineral edge of clay-schist soils to craft something taut and distinctive. The cuvée blends Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, and a hint of Rolle, shifting with each vintage to capture the fullest expression of the terroir.

Expect a dry, mineral-driven wine with a textured mid-palate and lifted citrus vibrancy—equally at home with seafood, charcuterie, or as an aperitif.

      Domaines Ott

From Alsace to Provence, Marcel Ott’s search for exceptional terroir culminated in 1896 with the founding of what would become Domaines Ott. His vision—to elevate the wines of Provence to global acclaim—was quietly radical. Rather than chase trends, Ott focused on noble varieties, low yields, and soil-first viticulture at a time when few in the region did. Over the next decades, he acquired three distinct estates—Château de Selle, Clos Mireille, and Château Romassan—each restored with meticulous care and a long-term view that continues to define the family’s legacy.

The unmistakable Ott bottle, created by Marcel’s son René in 1932, reflects the brand’s confidence and singular identity. Modelled after the cypress trees and ancient amphorae of Provence, it stands as a symbol of both heritage and innovation. While others may have sought broader adoption, the Ott family reserved its use for their own wines—quietly reinforcing their commitment to doing things differently.

Today, Domaines Ott remains a benchmark for Provençal wine, with all vineyards farmed using organic and biodynamic-inspired practices. Now under the Roederer Collection umbrella, the estates continue to honour Marcel Ott’s philosophy: to craft wines of integrity and precision that express their sites, their region, and the passage of time.
