Product Description:
The Domaine Michel Gros Vosne-Romanée 2023 is a village-level Pinot Noir from one of the Côte de Nuits’ most celebrated appellations. Produced entirely from Pinot Noir, the wine draws on three separate Vosne-Romanée parcels: Aux Réas, La Colombière and Au-Dessus de la Rivière. Each site contributes a different dimension, bringing together floral perfume, dark-fruited richness and the refined texture associated with the village. The 2023 fruit was completely destemmed before fermentation, preserving purity while avoiding excessive stem-derived structure. The wine was matured for 18 months in French oak barrels, with approximately 30% to 40% new oak, followed by a further four months in stainless steel. This extended élevage gives the wine polish and complexity while allowing its red and dark berry fruit to remain clearly defined.
The aromatic profile combines violets, incense, sweet cherry and raspberry with darker berry fruit and finely integrated oak. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and supple, with fresh acidity, pliant tannins and a generous core of fleshy fruit. Gentle oak firmness adds shape to the finish without overwhelming the wine’s perfume or natural elegance. Although expressive in its youth, the wine possesses enough structure and persistence to reward several years of bottle maturation. It will pair particularly well with roast duck, beef tenderloin, mushroom dishes, game birds and mature cheeses.

Reviews & Accolades
“All destemmed fruit, not yet in bottle, aged with 25% new wood. Lovely perfume with good oak. Up front, pure and delicious, then a slight firmness from the wood to finish. But the sweet cherry and raspberry fruit is impeccable and very long. Drink from 2028-2032. Tasted Mar 2025.” — Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy, 90–92 Points
“Cohesive and poised, this has a medium-bodied palate, pliant tannins and abundant fleshy red fruit on the finish.” — Neal Martin, Vinous, 88–90 Points
