Domaine du Gros ’Noré Bandol Rosé 2024 is a structured, characterful Provençal rosé produced by winemaker Alain Pascal in La Cadière-d’Azur. The domaine’s vineyards occupy sunny, well-ventilated hillsides shaped by Mediterranean warmth, cooling Mistral winds and predominantly clay-limestone soils. Certified organic farming and careful fruit selection underpin a wine intended to express the depth and savoury personality associated with Bandol. The 2024 blend comprises 54% Mourvèdre, 25% Cinsault, 19% Grenache and 2% Clairette, with Mourvèdre providing much of the wine’s structure and concentration. The fruit comes from approximately 13 hectares of vineyards with an average vine age of around 30 years.

Production combines 65% directly pressed fruit with 35% macerated fruit, building greater texture and complexity than is typically found in lighter Provençal rosé styles. Vinification takes place in stainless steel to preserve freshness, varietal clarity and the wine’s mineral expression. The 2024 vintage displays ripe stone fruit, white cherry, melon and citrus-toned fruit alongside toasted almond and Mediterranean herb nuances. Although pale in appearance, the palate is broad, full and savoury, supported by vibrant mineral energy and a subtle tannic grip. Its combination of fruit weight, freshness and structure gives the wine sufficient depth for the dining table as well as the potential to develop further in bottle. This is a serious and expressive Bandol rosé that balances generosity with herbal complexity, saline character and a persistent finish.

      Domaine du Gros’ Noré

Domaine du Gros’ Noré is a family-owned Bandol estate founded by winemaker Alain Pascal in 1997 in La Cadière-d’Azur, a picturesque Provençal village overlooking the Mediterranean coast. Before establishing the domaine under its own name, Alain and his father, Honoré Pascal, cultivated highly regarded grapes that were sold to leading local producers, including Domaine Ott and Château de Pibarnon. The family also produced small quantities of wine for their own consumption, although these early wines were never commercially released under a domaine label. Following his father’s death, Alain began bottling his wines officially and named the estate “Gros’ Noré” in Honoré’s memory, drawing on the affectionate village nickname by which his father had been known. Honoré had taught Alain both a love of the vineyard and a deep respect for careful, honest work, values that continue to define the estate today. Alain now tends the domaine’s hillside vineyards with the assistance of his brother, Guy, producing red, white and rosé wines that reflect the distinctive character of Bandol. Through his intimate understanding of each parcel and his uncompromising attention to the vines, Alain Pascal has established Domaine du Gros’ Noré as one of the appellation’s respected independent producers.
