Craggy Range is a family owned winery established in 1997, and situated in the shadow of the spectacular Te Mata Peak in the premium wine growing area of Hawke’s Bay New Zealand. Craggy Range produces a collection of iconic wines from grapes grown on exceptional estates in Hawke’s Bay, Martinborough, and Marlborough, with an unrelenting focus on quality. From the stony, warm soils of the Gimblett Gravels in Hawke's Bay to the volcanic, clay soils of Te Muna Road in Martinborough, these exceptional vineyards produce wines with amazing aromatics, purity and complexity.

Te Muna Valley lies just outside the Martinborough township, nestled along the winding Huangarua River. This subregion is characterised by its dramatic diurnal shifts, high wind exposure, and ancient alluvial soils layered with gravels and clay. The valley’s natural contours and cool climate provide the perfect conditions for slow ripening, allowing both Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc to develop remarkable purity, drive, and structure.

Grown on the lower terraces of Te Muna Road, this is a wine of remarkable texture and layered complexity. Martinborough’s cooler climate delivers lifted aromatics and a fine, steely minerality, while the rocky soils create intensity of the fruit.

Pale lemon in colour, this Sauvignon Blanc reflects the diverse soils of our Te Muna vineyard. Aromas of white peach, lemon, blossoms, fresh-cut herbs, and passionfruit lead into a palate driven by crisp acidity. The wine is balanced by stony minerality, subtle salinity, and a chalky texture imparted by the old river stones of the vineyard.
