The delightful and modest Château la Fleur Pourret can be found in the village of Pourret in St Emilion. It was acquired by the Manoncourt family, owners of the esteemed first classified growth Château Figeac, in 2002. The same team manages both estates, ensuring that the vineyards and cellars receive the same level of care and attention. This Grand Cru Saint-Emilion estate is situated on a 4.5-hectare vineyard, located on the limestone plateau, just 250 meters from the medieval city's western entrance.

The wine region of St Emilion in Bordeaux, France, is famous for producing blends of Merlot and Cabernet Franc grapes, sometimes with Cabernet Sauvignon. St Emilion Grand Cru wines are highly esteemed in the region and are known for their robust and full-bodied taste, featuring mature fruit flavors and strong tannins. This wine is produced from Château la Fleur Pourret's 4.5-hectare vineyard on the limestone plateau, situated in the small village of Pourret in St Emilion. It is a blend of 54% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Franc, 6% Cabernet Sauvignon, fermented in tank, concrete, and epoxy. The wine is aged for 15 to 18 months, with 90% in one-year-old barrels and 10% in new barrels. All the seasoned barrels come from Château Figeac.

The 2016 vintage of Chateau la Fleur Pourret St Emilion Grand Cru displays a deep purple hue and a complex aroma profile that includes notes of cassis, liquorice, and peppery, herbal spices. The palate is marked by impressively deep and supple tannins that bring richness and texture to the wine, along with flavours of forest fruits like wild raspberry, red cherry, and plum, with a hint of graphite. The oak tannins provide a well-structured frame for the juicy and fleshy fruit on the mid-palate, resulting in a harmonious integration. The finish is refreshing and lifted by a lovely cassis note.
