Chateau d’Yquem is universally recognised as the greatest sweet wine in the world, and therefore demands a place in the cellar of every serious oenophile. Due to cool summer temperatures and more than average rain in August, the growing season for the 2007 vintage caused uneven ripening, almost created a vintage which should, by all rights, be best forgotten. However a miraculous change in the weather transformed a handicap to a decisive advantage. In fact, the variety and complexity of grapes brought in at different stages produced a fantastic wine.
