Product Description:
Caroline Morey Chassagne-Montrachet Rouge 2024 is an elegant village-level red Burgundy produced from Pinot Noir grown in Les Pierres, Les Chênes and Les Chambres. These vineyard parcels are located below the village of Chassagne-Montrachet in Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune. The 2024 cuvée was vinified with approximately 35% whole bunches, contributing aromatic lift and a subtle peppery character. It was matured in barrel for 12 months before being bottled in November, with the relatively early bottling chosen to preserve the wine’s freshness. The wine displays a mid-crimson colour with a lighter rim, reflecting Caroline Morey’s characteristically delicate and refined red-wine style.
Lifted cranberry and strawberry aromas introduce a palate defined by bright, crunchy red fruit and finely textured tannins. Compared with the domaine’s village Santenay, this Chassagne-Montrachet possesses additional depth and substance while retaining freshness and approachability. Its medium-bodied structure is supported by lively acidity, refined tannins and a restrained peppery accent. Although already expressive, the wine has sufficient balance and structure to develop gracefully over the next several years. Caroline Morey established her domaine in 2014 and now manages approximately seven hectares across Chassagne-Montrachet, Santenay and Beaune using sustainable viticultural practices. Her red wines are handled gently, with whole-bunch use adapted to the vineyard and vintage to maximise freshness, elegance and finesse.
