At Maison Camille Giroud, a diversity of terroir allows for delicious variety. From perfumed, plush reds to perfumed whites; their precise wines are made from plots all across the famed Côte d’Or – what unites each parcel is a signature precision and character.
Camille Giroud Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru has a beautiful golden yellow colour. The nose expresses a fascinating aromatic profile, with elegant and complex aromas of white fruits and tertiary notes, in the mouth it denotes a good structure and beautiful aromatic complexity, with fruity aromas and acidity in perfect balance with a long and persistent finish. This wine with great aging potential.
This too is aromatically quite elegant with its combination of green apple, white flower and citrus zest aromas that are cut with wet stone and spice wisps. There is excellent volume to the energetic and equally mineral-driven though much bigger and more powerful flavors that exhibit very fine depth on the impressively long finish. This is presently quite tightly wound though I suspect that it could be approachable after only 5 to 7 years if you enjoy more primary fruit. Worth checking out. - Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, 2020, 93 points
