Buccia Nera Tenuta di Campriano Chianti 2021
Buccia Nera (‘black skin’ in Italian) is a family farm located in Campriano, a small village in the heart of Tuscany. The estate was bought by the Family Mancini in 1926 and remains family owned to this day, with all family members residing on the estate and farming organically.
The 2021 vintage of this wine is 80% Sangiovese with the balance made up with an undeclared mixture of indigineous grapes as well as some Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The nose is intense and clean-edged, with rich initial floral notes that linger on, along with aromas of fresh red berry fruit.
A smooth palate balanced by a refreshing crispness. The tannins are youthful but already ripe and well integrated into the structure. The finish is very long and brings back the red berry fragrances encountered on the nose. Pair this wine with medium-aged cheeses and red meats. First courses of pasta and ragù.
