Fieramonte tells the story of Valpolicella and its most important traditions, underpinned by a combination of values firmly based on an upper hillside vineyard with slopes that face south, and on the stubbornness of man who has always reaped the best from those lands. Giovanni Allegrini, the Company’s founder and father of Walter, Marilisa and Franco, was proud of it, precisely for its upper hillside location and its fortunate exposure to the east, where the ripening of the grapes is very balanced. As he loved to say: the morning sun, driving away the shadows of the night, awakens nature and gently caresses the bunches.

The grapes are harvested by hand and carefully selected. Naturally dried for 3-4 months in the drying facility. The grapes lose 40-45% of their original weight. After over ripening in the drying facility, they are destemmed in January and subjected to soft pressing. The wine matures for 48 months in French oak barriques, followed by blending for 6 months in large Slavonian oak barrels and ageing in the bottle for about a year.

The Amarone Classico Riserva Fieramonte DOCG, with the vintages 2015 and 2016, has received for two consecutive years 100 points from Decanter the prestigious English publication recognised worldwide as an authoritative source on wine. Already in 2019 Fieramonte was awarded with the Best Red of the Year 2019 by the British magazine Decanter.

      Trusted by the professionals

Intense ruby red with violet reflections. The nose is intense and structured, elite. It presents ripe notes of red pulp, jam-like figs, followed by warm tones of tobacco, coffee and spices such as cloves and pepper. Dense, full and enveloping on the palate with pronounced tannins, long, captivating finish.

      — Falstaff, 98 Points

Plush and opulent, with a creamy chocolate edge to the concentrated minty blackberries, dark walnuts, mussels and pine cones. Rich, broad and full-bodied with lots of oak now, but still very fresh and tangy. Lots of fine-grained tannins tuck up the dark fruit and the sweet spices into a lengthy finish. Needs some time for the oak to settle more.

      — James Suckling, 95 Points

      Allegrini

The Allegrini family has played a leading role in the history of Fumane and Valpolicella Classica since the 16th century and has handed down the culture of the vine and wine ever since. The company, which is among the most important landowning families, experienced a profound period of transformation starting in the 1960s with Giovanni Allegrini. Recognized as one of the greatest architects of the rebirth of Valpolicella, Giovanni perfected the art of winemaking, meticulously selecting the grapes and introducing some important innovations in viticulture and oenology.

Allegrini has achieved Biodiversity Friend certification year on year since 2017. This recognizes the care dedicated not only to the vines but also to the animals and insects that inhabit the countryside and to their natural habitat.
Since 2023 Beekeeping certification has also been added, testifying to the commitment to safeguarding this insect, so precious for preserving and promoting the biodiversity of the environment. In 2019, the Company also acquired Equalitas certification, which attests to the sustainability of the supply chain with regard to the environment, society, economy, and the entire network of suppliers. 2021 saw the introduction of constant monitoring of water consumption in the vineyards and the traceability of the Company’s carbon footprint, which quantifies CO2 emissions with the aim of rationalising and potentially neutralising them via other agronomic operations.
