The 2022 Chambolle-Musigny from Domaine Dujac is a refined and charming expression of this prestigious village. A testament to the estate’s commitment to producing wines of exceptional fragrance, structure, and longevity, this village-level bottling offers a vivid expression of Chambolle-Musigny’s hallmark elegance. With a foundation of clay rather than limestone, this wine is a delightful departure from the typical mineral-driven expressions of the village, offering a smoother, more generous character while still maintaining the structure and freshness that Domaine Dujac is known for. This wine captures the finesse of Chambolle-Musigny and the expertise of the Seysses family, making it a perfect choice for those seeking a wine with both immediate appeal and potential for aging.

From parcels in Les Véroilles, Les Drazeys, Les Argillières and Les Fremières that total .89 ha A slightly more elegant nose freely reveals its aromas of black cherry, pretty floral and more evident spice nuances. The super-sleek and well-detailed medium weight flavours possess excellent punch while delivering slightly better length on the firm, dusty and robust finale. This is not a Chambolle of lace and grace but it's quite good all the same. Outstanding. Drink: 2030+
Deep crimson. The bouquet has quite an elegant style even if the individual fruits are not yet quite with us. Quite a firm structure behind but sitting well with the deep red fruit. Balanced and stylish, with good ageing potential. Drink: 2031-2038
Derived almost exclusively from lieu-dit Les Draze, the 2022 Chambolle-Musigny Village wafts from the glass with aromas of red berries, cherries, rose petals and baking spices. Medium to full-bodied, deep and pure, with a concentrated core of fruit framed by sweet tannins, it's showing especially well.
This lovely village-level Chambolle is true to the house style and to the terroir, with its deep colour, fragrant black cherry fruit aromas and hints of black tea and flowers. The texture is fresh and elegant, but there is also grip and length here. The grapes come from three lieux-dits distributed throughout the village: Les Véroilles at the top, Les Argillières in the centre, and Les Drazey at the base. This last is planted with about 50 different clones and ripens more, and more quickly to deliver this rousing success. Drink: 2025-2050
Domaine Dujac, founded in 1968 by Jacques Seysses, is a beacon of excellence in Burgundy winemaking. Situated in the heart of Morey-Saint-Denis, the estate has grown from humble beginnings to become one of the most respected producers in the region. Jacques, inspired by his father’s love for fine wines and his own experiences with Burgundy’s great winemakers, embarked on a journey to craft wines that would reflect the unique terroirs of the Côte de Nuits. Today, Domaine Dujac remains a family business, with Jacques’ son Jeremy and his wife Diana taking the reins, ensuring the estate’s legacy continues with the same dedication to quality. The winery is known for its commitment to biodynamic practices and minimal intervention winemaking, allowing the pure expression of the terroir to shine through in every bottle.
At Domaine Dujac, the philosophy centres on the belief that great wine begins in the vineyard. The estate’s 24 vineyard blocks, planted with Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and other Burgundy varieties, are farmed with the utmost care and respect for the land. Certified organic since 2011 and with biodynamic practices introduced in 2003, Domaine Dujac prioritises healthy soils and sustainable farming methods, using organic composting, straw mulching, and cultivating inter-row cover crops to nourish the vineyard and maintain biodiversity. The emphasis is on producing low-yielding vines that can develop deep root systems, allowing the grapes to express the full potential of their terroir. The estate’s commitment to quality is evident in every aspect of its vineyard management, with a focus on hand-picking grapes, careful pruning, and a minimal-intervention approach to winemaking.
The winemaking philosophy at Domaine Dujac is rooted in the idea that the vineyard’s work should be respected and preserved. Using indigenous yeasts and minimal handling, the wines are crafted to showcase the unique character of each vintage and terroir. The whole-bunch fermentation method, along with light pressing and extended maturation in oak barrels, results in wines that are elegant, balanced, and able to age gracefully. With a dedication to preserving the natural expression of their vineyards, Domaine Dujac produces wines that reflect both the philosophy of its founders and the evolving vision of the next generation. Through their meticulous approach to both viticulture and winemaking, Domaine Dujac continues to be one of the most admired names in Burgundy.
The fragrance is fresh and inviting, offering a snapshot of Chambolle-Musigny’s quintessential charm, with hints of rose petal and subtle spice.
The wine’s soft tannins create a smooth texture, while a touch of minerality lingers in the background, adding depth and focus. Combines elegance with approachability, offering immediate pleasure without sacrificing complexity.
Clean and vibrant, with the freshness of the fruit lingering alongside a fine, mineral edge. The structure provides balance and promises the wine will evolve beautifully with time.
