Pedro Quintanilla aimed to preserve the traditional tequila-making process while making each bottle a work of art appreciated well beyond the tequila itself. He prioritised working with local Mexican artisans, ensuring that the hand-blown glass bottles, made from recycled glass, matched the tequila's quality. 

Los Azulejos Skelly Tequila is a unique blend of two essential aspects of Mexican culture: tequila and calaveras (skulls), drawing inspiration from the Dia de Los Muertos. Over time, calaveras have transcended their traditional roots to become iconic symbols of Mexican pop culture. The Los Azulejos tequila skeleton bottle celebrates this fusion, embodying the spirit and cultural richness of Mexico.

The Los Azulejos tequila production process

Los Azulejos tequila is a genuine representation of traditional craftsmanship, made from 100% Blue Weber Agave. It is meticulously produced using the traditional method, incorporating agaves that are fully matured, aged between 7 and 10 years, and sourced equally from both the Highlands and Lowlands of Jalisco.

The agaves are slow-roasted in brick ovens and undergo a slow fermentation process, ensuring a pure and rich flavour profile. This tequila employs roller press extraction and is double distilled, ensuring the highest quality. It is aged in Bourbon barrels to achieve its unique character and is completely free from additives. 

Los Azulejos Skelly Añejo Tequila

Los Azulejos Skelly Añejo Tequila starts with a captivating aroma of roasted pineapple that, over time, develops into a complex bouquet with peppery, almost viscous, and floral undertones. Additional notes of toasted oak and vanilla bean add to its depth. 

On the palate, it reveals an intriguing blend of roasted peppers, orange blossom and tropical fruits, transitioning to rich mid-palate flavours of chocolate, orange and sugar cookies. Its finish is long and naturally sweet, highlighted by abundant chocolate, caramel and dulce de leche flavours. 

Los Azulejos Skelly Blanco Tequila

This Los Azulejos Skelly tequila opens with a snappy, fresh aroma, subtly ashy and slightly smoky, enriched with agave notes upon air exposure. A complex bouquet featuring jasmine, rose, rosemary, thyme and a hint of mint adds to its allure. The palate is fresh and zesty, characterised by peppery and vegetal notes, with a sugary sweetness at the mid-palate. It is complemented by a solid minerality and subtle floral undertones, making it exceptionally rich in taste. 

Los Azulejos Skelly Reposado Tequila 

This Reposado presents initial aromas of orange blossom and basil, including hazelnut and nutmeg, creating a warm and varied bouquet. The palate starts tart, acidic and lean, then introduces a strongly structured texture and flavours of honey oak, vanilla bean and herbal agave notes. Los Azulejos Skelly Reposado Tequila finishes long, combining toffee sweetness with vegetal clarity, distinguishing itself as a reposado with a naturally sweet and herbal appeal.
