Refined elegance and precision craftsmanship define the Josephinenhütte Josephine No. 4 Champagne Glass (6 Pack). Designed by renowned sixth-generation glassmaker Kurt Josef Zalto, the Josephine No. 4 was created specifically to showcase fine sparkling wines with greater depth, balance and aromatic clarity. Each glass is mouth-blown and individually handcrafted in Europe from lead-free crystal, resulting in an exceptionally lightweight yet highly refined stem that elevates both the visual and sensory experience of Champagne service. Unlike traditional narrow flutes that primarily preserve bubbles, the Josephine No. 4 incorporates a broader bowl and shortened aroma chimney that allow complex sparkling wines to fully express their bouquet while still maintaining a fine, persistent mousse.

Its distinctive shape combines elegance with technical precision, encouraging a more layered presentation of autolytic notes, minerality and subtle fruit nuances often hidden in conventional sparkling wine glasses. The deeply pointed base supports a steady and refined effervescence, while the tapered rim directs aromas with remarkable focus toward the nose. Josephinenhütte specifically recommends the No. 4 for Champagne, Franciacorta, Cava and other premium sparkling wines, though it also performs beautifully with sweet wines such as Sauternes, Tokaji and Ice Wine. The ultra-thin crystal walls heighten textural sensitivity and minimise distraction between wine and palate, giving the tasting experience an almost seamless quality. Sommeliers and collectors frequently praise the glass for combining the celebratory elegance of classic Champagne stems with the aromatic performance of modern universal wine glass design. Presented here in a six-pack set, the Josephine No. 4 offers artisanal craftsmanship, contemporary functionality and exceptional versatility for serious wine enthusiasts and refined entertaining alike.

      Josephinenhütte

Josephinenhütte was born from a simple conviction: that the glass you drink from changes everything.

Revived in 2019 by three friends who shared a deep appreciation for traditional craftsmanship, the brand takes its name from a legendary Silesian glassworks founded in 1842, once among the most significant glass manufacturers in Europe and the New World. Almost two centuries later, that spirit of innovation has been reborn.

The creative mind behind every piece is Kurt Josef Zalto, a glass designer in the sixth generation. For decades he studied the influence of shape and material on the flavour of wine, driven by a single vision: to create the finest sensory wine glass possible. The result is the Josephine Collection, his masterpiece.

Every glass is mouth-blown by skilled artisans in a European glass hut, shaped through numerous stages requiring extraordinary precision and concentration. The stem is drawn by hand with pliers, the base formed with specialised scissors in a single rotational movement. No two pieces are identical. Each one is a sculpture.
