The first vintage produced by Prieure Roch was in 2009 though this vineyard had been farmed organically for nearly 20 years by its previous owners. The vines are around 50 years old. The Domaine Prieure Roch Nuit 1er Cru Clos de Argillieres 2016 displays power & length with firm tannins.

Domaine Prieuré Roch farm 14 hectares in some of Burgundy’s finest plots, with holdings in the Grand Cru’s of Clos de Beze & Clos Vougeot plus two unique monopole vineyards, the Clos de Corvee 1er Cru in Nuit St Georges which was unified by Henry in 1995 & the unicorn plot of .55 hectare Les Clos Goillotte in Vosne Romanée which is 50 yards from La Tâche. In the winery they use only natural yeasts for all wines which is a true expression of the terroir as each vineyard has its own unique yeast & 100% whole bunch fermentation is the mandate for all red wines. The stems serve several roles such as acting as drains in the ferment which allows the
yeast to circulate & also keeping the berries whole mean there is no loss of juice before arriving into the fermenters. There is no fining or filtering of any wines & all practices are done organically with no chemicals used at any stage.
