Champagne Bollinger La Grande Année 2008 is the manifestation of the thoughtfully preserved traditional expertise of the Bollinger Champagne House. This champagne has been exclusively vinified in small oak barrels. The champagne house has always used this traditional craft method, helping to develop aromas of superb finesse. After a prolonged ageing on its lees, even today every bottle of La Grande Année is riddled and disgorged by hand.
This champagne has a delicate colour. The golden hues show the wine's maturity and Champagne Bollinger's methods. The nose has aromatic depth. There hints of floral, fruity, and spicy notes, intertwining to reveal a highly complex nose. Aromas of orange peel, plum, and wild peach come before the saffron and tonka been. All together complements by a fresh, mineral aspect. The palate is harmonious and dense. A creamy effervescence and fresh structure, with a gentle saline finish.
