Nick’s 2023 Grüner Veltliner continues to impress with its remarkable intensity and balance, making it a standout white wine. Expect fresh green apple, herbaceous notes, white pepper, and even a touch of grilled pineapple. There's also an intriguing umami element that adds complexity. The palate is textured and juicy with pleasing volume, highlighted by pepperiness and chalky accents that keep every sip engaging. A must-try for fans of Grüner Veltliner.

Grüner Veltliner is a white grape variety native to Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, and the Czech Republic. In Australia, this varietal thrives exclusively in cooler regions such as Tumbarumba, the Adelaide Hills, and Tasmania. Known for its crispness, Grüner Veltliner is often compared to Riesling but offers more volume, texture, and a softer acidity, making it approachable and refreshing.

      Nick Spencer

Nick Spencer Wines is a boutique, family-owned winery in New South Wales, Australia. Founded in 2016 by award-winning winemaker Nick Spencer, the winery operates similarly to the French négociant model, sourcing premium fruit from top growers across regions like Gundagai, Tumbarumba, and Hilltops. Nick Spencer’s winemaking journey has been shaped by nearly two decades of experience and accolades, including the prestigious Jimmy Watson Trophy and the Len Evans Tutorial Scholar honour.

After earning his Oenology degree from the University of Adelaide in 2000, Nick worked with top producers such as Rosemount, Coldstream Hills, and Eden Road Wines, where he led the team for almost a decade before establishing his own label. His wines reflect a deep passion for the unique terroirs of New South Wales, particularly Gundagai and Tumbarumba, which have consistently produced award-winning vintages under his expert hand.
